1.人間権
Human rights are the most important right that own humans. Unfortunately, all around the world, in developping countries or in developped countries, people are exploited due to their situation in a given political system or Human rights.The Article 1 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) stresses that "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood."
Examples of rights and freedoms which are often thought of as human rights include civil and political rights, such as the right to life and liberty, freedom of expression, and equality before the law.
All around the world we have several examples of non-respect of such basic principles.
- We can speak first about the Burmese Nobel Prize Aung San Suu Kyi who is currently under detention, with the Burmese junta repeatedly extending her detention. According to the results of the 1990 general election, Suu Kyi earned the right to be Prime Minister, as leader of the winning National League for Democracy party, but her detention by the military junta prevented her from assuming that role.
- An other example of this fundamental right abuse is Hu Jia, a political and human rights activist since the early 1990s, who was charged with inciting subversion of state authorities on 18 March 2008.
However, these scorned rights is not only the prerogative of non-democratic countries. In democratic countries such Russia, the United States (US) or France, we can see other problems.
- In Russia, the former world chess champion Kasparov create The Other Russia, a coalition which oppose Putin's government in 2006. Before the Russian elections, he was several times arrested by the Russian police. One of his arrests, on November 24, 2007, Kasparov and other protesters were detained by police after a rally in Moscow. He were charged with resisting arrest and organising an unauthorized protest, and given a jail sentence of five days. He was released from jail on November 29. Kasparov had at this aftermath of his arrest to withdraw his presidential candidacy.
- In the US, I do think that the different iniatives to inform wrongly the US public opinion about the detention of mass destruction weapons in Irak is a very significant failure in the right for people to have a proper information. Indeed, despite the reticence of the United Nations (UN) to intervene in Irak and the different report of the representatives of the different UN institutions, the US army and some other countries participated to the invasion of Irak. The US citizens were for a large in favour to such a plan, partly due to their trust in the US government and the media which broadly spread and agree US government' theories.
- On May 13, 2008, in France, while the French President Sarkozy was coming to debate about the French economy in a factory, some leftish activists wanted to distributes tracts nearby the factory, as all activists have the right to express is political views. However, policemen inspected them and confiscated their tracts, stickers and even their newspapers, which is a seriousinfringement to the right to people to express their opinion, especially in democracy like France. Is it the start of dictatorship in France?
Other aspects of human rights such as social, cultural and economic rights, including the right to participate in culture, the right to food, the right to work, and the right to education are often scorned as well.
These problems are maybe more difficult to understand since it confront different perception of cultures and beliefs which are different compared to the "mainstream" culture and way of thinking.
Concerning NGOs working on this field, we can cite Amnesty International, which work in more than 150 countries, the International Community of the Red Cross, mayb the oldest structured NGO, Human Rights Watch, Reporters Without Borders or Freedom Now
